I describe it this way because I used to build WCAG accessible web content and thought I was pretty cool using different screen readers and building accessible content until I saw real visually impaired users operating their computer with a screen reader and it was completely different from how I was doing it. The speed, for example, was very surprising - they were extremely fast and using loads of shortcuts I wasn’t. It’s a different experience.
