Everything I'd told them up until that point *was* my contribution. I kept saying "we" where "I" was more accurate and it didn't occur to me until then that some interviewers took "we" and "us" literally.
And then it occurred to me that people (generally speaking, this may not apply to you personally) seem to have a higher opinion of people that claim sole credit for the result of an entire team's efforts. It can be hard to discern arrogance from earned confidence.
