Ok. I knew I'd have Feelings.
Nostalgia is a very powerful thing.
I spent so many Friday evenings on this very platform. Waiting for Dad to come home after a week in London.
So many evenings watching my sister dance, or me singing (!) for passengers as a distraction.
Kinda embarrassing to remember that, now...
So much time hearing the Valenta scream as HSTs stopped, passengers moved through, and then pulled away, the engine burning a sound never to be forgotten into my soul.
I was happy here. I was inspired here and it absolutely had an impact on who I am and what I do.
Currently empty, waiting for the next period of hustle and bustle. It looks somewhat nondescript to my adult eyes, the way South stretching away into the gloom.
And I have feelings. Inside me, that child I was is bouncing with joy; the adult I am now feels sadly nostalgic.
I'm home. But it's no longer home. But part of my heart still resides right here...l
