TIL how to load an animated PNG loop into Kdenlive. At least, in the version I have, it doesn't just happen automatically.

But FFMPEG understands "apng" format.

I renamed my .png to .apng, but I don't know if that mattered.

But then I did:

$ ffmpeg -i <anim>.apng <anim_folder>/<anim>-%03d.png

And now I have a short PNG stream.
Which Kdenlive can load (including transparency and looping) with "Add Image Sequence..."
