I was born & raised in Iowa: rich farmland, criss crossed by little rivers, fucking perfect conditions for growing things.
Except for the giant farms which have stripped the soil of all its nutrients & polluted all the rivers with hog sewage.
It breaks my heart that colonizers did that to such a beautiful place that could foster SO MUCH life.
