I wonder if it is possible to trace this birthright citizenship thing to it's origin.
We have a quite different version.
[Sweden has birthright citizenship, also known as jus sanguinis (citizenship by blood), meaning that children born to Swedish parents automatically acquire Swedish citizenship, regardless of where they are born
[A child born in Sweden to parents who are in the country illegally does not automatically become a Swedish citizen.]
But we are still replaced somehow.
