I had lots of Wordfence mails about locked out users lately, coming from an old site which has been replaced with something better. Overnight there were 249. I'd already seen that someone or something had scraped the names of commenters and tried to force a password reset or something for those.
The reason that old Wordpress site still lived in a subdirectory is that I use images from there. I simply deleted all the wordpress stuff now, and kept the wp-content/uploads
