Good news: Mom was discharged on Tuesday night. She got her cardiac CT done Tuesday afternoon. She has slept well for first 2 nights back at home. Her blood pressure was high before we got a new prescription to regulate it & this morning it's 129. Blood sugar is stabilized. Mom can use a sturdy 4-footed cane around the house. She needs assistance with her meds, bathing & is not allowed to navigate stairs or anywhere outdoors alone, for safety. She washes her own mug.

Bad news: We still have no date for her Y-90 booking. We still haven't been contacted by local cancer centre to be able to access more support services. VGH didn't give me any discharge report paperwork; only received a double sided sheet with medications/prescription info. I need the full discharge report for our records & to apply for some more help. VIHA didn't connect me to any community supports for Mom/my family - still juggling everything by myself.
Frauke helped pay for 6 medications. One newer one - Rifaximin - cost me almost $600 & it's only enough for 30 days.
I have a post discharge appointment with Mom's GP at 3:50pm today & hoping he can help us find a generic, more affordable prescription to replace Rifaximin or if he can write & apply for special approval assistance to lower the cost.

I'm really overwhelmed & praying for more hands to help me over next couple of weeks until we all adjust to new family schedules/sharing of caregiving duties. My brother Steve is coming down again on Friday to help out some more.
I haven't seen anyone except my family & medical people for awhile. I don't have spoons to socialize/do much other than focus on my family.

People can contact me on Signal but be aware I don't often respond quickly.
