in the end I stole A hill's laptop, took it apart, cleaned it (apparently making fan go spinny with compressor somehow fixed the bearings) and put it back together.

For now it's fixed, but no idea how long it'll hold and since lelnovo only sells fan + heatsink assembly it'll cost €50 to replace (which is frankly outrageous, this should be a €15 fix)
