Bestie & I share some experiences, but our family roles were very different. She wasn't in a position that required her to figure out & manage a whole host of people's emotions.

She was expected to do that for her mother, yes, but not the entire household. It's a very different dynamic, & I think I need to remember that some of my focus on others is coming from a situation where it felt absolutely necessary to manage everyone's feelings. My trauma has got me in a state of hyper-awareness.
