The modern portrayal of the "Wild Hunt" often features a male "Wild Huntsman" as a hyper-masculine figure, possibly as an incarnation of Odin.
However, in my research of German folklore, I was surprised how often the Wild Hunt actually has a female leader. The goddess-figure Hulda/Holle/Perchta features in this role particularly often.
And when I publish a book on the Wild Hunt (currently planned as Volume 5 in my series), I definitely want a "Wild Huntswoman" on the cover.
