Solana staking protocol Marinade successfully thwarted a malicious attack targeting its DAO voting mechanism on Sept 25th. An attacker attempted to inflate MNDE token voting power to push through proposals to replace the voting program & drain the DAO treasury. MNDE holders & the DAO Council blocked both proposals within hours. Crucially, proposals weren't executable for nearly 4 days, preventing fund loss. mSOL, Native Staking, & SAM services were unaffected. Marinade has implemented a temporary fix & is developing a permanent code solution & enhanced security.
