#WritersCoffeeClub Oct. 18: Talk about a time you had a revelation.
When I almost gave up my creativity forever. Background: I was on a forum that was... really not good for me. The folks there more or less had me convinced that I had to be a professional to be a creative and I was already dealing with a day job that was draining. Having two jobs wasn't working for me. Then, on my hour commute home, it came to me: I could call myself a hobbyist. Suddenly it was a huge weight off my shoulders, because I realized I didn't need to make a choice between my day job and my games. I could be a hobbyist and they could be fun again.
A lot of that was writing and pixel art and very little of it was code and that's probably for the best, because at the time I was convinced I needed to write my own engines. So I've kept myself sane with the fun parts and it has remained my hobby.
