AE yeah, it's the only Adobe software I still use (pirated - don't tell anyone). There are some reasonable alternatives for it nowadays but nobody has time to learn a new software. But I really really recommend looking into Affinity - you can open .ai files, and maybe clients could do with .eps if they want to have a file they can edit themselves?
Apologies for the unsolicited advice - but it really made my life so much less frustrating when I switched from Adobe to Affinity. Designer's life is already stressful enough and I just want people to have as little friction in their lives as possible
