It's only 'religious' missionaries? What other kind are there?
Are there atheist missionaries?
My understanding is that there is no official religion in the USA just like in Canada, landS of the FREE!
I sincerely do not get where people get the idea that the USA and Canada are Christian nations when both were founded mostly by men 'of the enlightenment', the majority of whom were Free Masons, which is not actually a religion - according to what I've read. I found it hard to access this information! - most likely because Masonry is still somewhat secretive and was never as mainstream as men would have wanted. So it was hushed up. I didn't look as closely at the American founders but they were all in cahoots then just as they are now and Canada always copied a lot from Britain and the USA.
They are the ones who founded our nations and they do include a belief in god whom they refer to as the Great Architect but they are primarily upholders of religious freedom (I only found this out during convid because so many people here were trying to pretend that Canada is a Christian country just because in terms of religion, Christianity is still the most popular). Why would this not apply to First Nations (is this term even acceptable any longer as it was supposedly made up by non-FN?) and American Natives?
So much for the idea that 'everyone is equal' here - I doubt anyone (men) ever imagined that was supposed to apply to EVERYONE who lives on this land including WOMEN.
