NickyMoo has published an animated pixel art aquarium on GitHub that runs on the Pimoroni Interstate 75 W (RP2350) and drives two 64 x 64 HUB75 panels side by side for a 128 x 64 scene. It needs no internet, no account, and no network code.
The tank holds resident fish and visitors, jellyfish, a night anglerfish and a ghost, submarines, bubbles, animated foliage and coral, a snail, a hermit crab, an oyster with a pearl, and a treasure chest. Feeding animations start at local :15 and :45 and run for 28 seconds. Day and night palettes switch automatically, with night hours set to 20:00 to 06:59. Target frame rate is 15 FPS.
Holding B shows or hides a 24-hour clock in the top-left corner, drawn in front of the aquarium. The RTC keeps local wall time only, with no timezone or daylight saving handling, and it needs resetting after a power loss. There is also a Tkinter and Pillow emulator, emulator.py, so the scene can be previewed on a computer without hardware. The code is MIT licensed.
