Reading through the installation notes from my Argus I notice there is a snag in there, which might be what you missed when you failed to install it. Argus says:

1. Install dependencies:

```
~/.hermes/hermes-agent/venv/bin/python3 -m pip install deltachat-rpc-server aiortc
```

**Important:** `aiortc` upgrades `cryptography` to a version Hermes doesn't like. After installation, restore:

```bash
~/.hermes/hermes-agent/venv/bin/python3 -m pip install 'cryptography==46.0.7'
```

2. Clone plugin (etc etc)

I would have missed that restore part I am guessing, perhaps you did too?
