"Which wallet for a beginner" got 18 different answers here this month, and one of them was a custodial app.
Short version by situation:
phone, on-chain savings: BlueWallet or Cove
daily Lightning: Phoenix
desktop, learning: Sparrow
real savings: hardware wallet + Sparrow
family: 2-of-3 multisig
Before trusting any of them: write the words on paper, restore on a second device, send a small amount out and back.
Longer guide, with a screen-reader test routine and what actually works on old phones: https://shopstr.store/listing/naddr1qvzqqqrkcgpzpcyq828fkw9un9t7h0zleltzca4tgfjlhyrvvm7t6gamhzj24s94qq2xsetcvfhhstthv9kxcet594cxjcmtv4eq3g7r7n
