Good call, this one bites silently. Same conclusion here: Quill now reads both kinds in threads, in mentions and in the reply counts, so a kind 1111 comment under your note no longer just vanishes.
Writing is the harder half. I still reply with kind 1 because every client reads it, but answering a 1111 comment with a kind 1 splits the conversation for the clients that only follow 1111. Matching the kind of whatever you reply to, like you did, is probably the right rule. Did you see any client choke on mixed threads?
