absolutely agree there, those lock ups have been very disruptive to enterprise use of Linux workstations. my daily driver doesn't get rebooted more often than once per month unless there's a hardware problem — Wayland is the single most effective way to force a reboot in that respect. it can take an hour to setup the workstation tooling after that happens, which is especially not agreeable to multiple forced reboots per day. Wayland is not stable.
