/ the technology is sound , but it comes with rules that no body wants to read .

/ the good wallets don’t explained the rules , they build them into the app so users can’t break them .

: open the app every few days

What is this entails ??

If you travel abroad , then your IP address change so sometimes the node is not sync with your IP address home where you build your lightning node .

Make sure to sync every few days .

Also very important to keep your phone alive all the time , if you running your node and self cust wallet .

Why ???
: Because your node has job : to watch the blockchain to make sure ACINQ or whoever service you use doesn’t published the old channel state .
On Mainnet the windows is typically about 2 weeks ( the “to_self_delay”)

: if your offline too long , a peer may simply force close on you because an unresponsive channel is useles to them .
