I heard in the TV that "ChatGPT has surpassed the million users" and that "its usage has become massive". And It pissed me off because these kind of news are always missleading on purpose to promote the application. I wouldn't be surprised if OpenAI paid media outlets to spread shit like this to promote themselves.
You keep hearing about how people is being called out after suffering "AI psychosis" where they strongly believe something the AI told them even if it's not true. Scientific papers being completely fake, prosecutors having their cases thrown away after using AI to write a completely outrageous report full of lies and made up facts, people believing they discovered stuff and then it was the AI making them believe they did when they did not... but they keep on and on insisting in this shit.
At this point there are only two possibilities. Either AI is the marvel of the world and everyone saying that it sucks is lying, or the techbros are faking reports and using agents to fake usage of their own chatbot and make their usage statistics bigger than they really are, because I don't believe so many people is so stupid as to have trouble using this tool and then coming back to it.
If they do, the world has gone completely crazy. Like, gone. Out of their minds. I mean, wasn't it recently that people reported that OpenAI wasn't even profitable? And now not only they are doing fine, they want to go public. Like, what?
