Book description: "“An Army at Dawn” by Rick Atkinson is a Pulitzer Prize–winning nonfiction book that chronicles the North African campaign of World War II from 1942 to 1943, marking the first volume of Atkinson’s “Liberation Trilogy” 4 2 . The book begins with the Allied amphibious invasion of Morocco and Algeria during Operation TORCH, detailing the initial combat with French forces before shifting focus to the intense and evolving conflict against the Germans and Italians in Tunisia.

WWII is a historical period of great interest to me, and this book did not disappoint.
