Adults when I was a kid: Don't learn about science on the internet: it could be unreliable!
Those same adults now: Get all their science information from newspapers, written exclusively by non-scientists and edited exclusively by non-scientists.
Me now: Get science information from actual scientists blogging about their area of research, and from ArXiv if it's in my area.
