BBS
Developer rh1tech has published Boar BBS on GitHub, a bulletin board system that callers reach over telnet or SSH. It has ANSI color, CP437 block art, hotkey menus, private mail, public message boards, live chat, door games and a oneliner wall, along with sysop tools.
Boar is written in Go and builds to a single binary. All data lives in one SQLite file through a pure-Go driver, so no C compiler is needed. Type NEW at the handle prompt to register. The first account becomes the sysop, and later accounts are read-only until a sysop approves them.
Callers can register up to five SSH public keys for passwordless login. Doors are external programs listed in a JSON file, and the BBS writes DOOR.SYS and DORINFO1.DEF before handing the caller over. Classic DOS doors such as LORD and TradeWars 2002 are meant to run under DOSBox-X over an emulated serial port, though the author notes nobody has tried a real DOS door yet. There is also a FidoNet layer and an optional web-based sysop menu. The code is GPL v3.
