In the mix of pentesting services I do, I do mobile app pentesting (technically hybrid application testing where one API is used by a mobile app, web app, etc) so I maintain a collection of rooted and jailbroken phones for work purposes. A few months ago I was looking for a new phone and I decided to look at the hardware supply chain. This seems particularly relevant now that it has become trendy in global politics to impose mandates on the tech sector.
