If there were a lot of people living and working in Ireland legally with GB passports, and it looked like the UK was about to leave the EU and take with them a bunch of people's rights to live and work in Ireland, those people would have to get Irish passports to continue with their lives. All of that is unrelated to levels of satisfaction with Brexit. A lot of people who didn't need to do paperwork suddenly had to do paperwork, that's all we know.
