I'm writing an MP/M banked daemon; it took me two whole days to find the definition of the banked portion -- it wasn't in the Programmers Guide! It was in the System Guide! Sheesh! Turns out to be very simple.
Then it took a day and a half to get the conditional assembly in MAC, the macro assembler to work. MAC doesn't allow nested conditionals, it was like converting code into hard-wired logic. Got it to work though; one source to define two related binaries.
Alas, MAC doesn't allow defining a symbol on the command line, so assembling both halves requires either manually editing, or a kludge with an "include" directive that I can set from the command line, and put it all in a submit file.
Or write a sed, which I will probably do at some point, but not now. (CP/M sed will be easy to write because I already have a simple GREP and also it will have almost no features, lol.)
