I have no compassion for people sharing their love of #genAI on here and not trying to understand the arguments they get in the inevitable push back (inevitable, because the #Fediverse seems to be the last bastion of defense against that invasive slop ❤️).
GenAI has literally stolen and perverted the work of most coders, artists, researchers, writers on here, while accelerating the destruction of the planet. It is also a slop-making machine that might sometimes produce correct output that only an expert can validate as such by probably taking more time than would have been needed to make the thing themselves in the first place. There is no ethical reason to accept the costs and no practical reason to use it if you care about the quality of your output.
The goal of pushback is to preserve the integrity of the Fediverse while convincing people that genAI is bad. Is it uncomfortable to be the target of pushback? Yes. Could there be a better strategy that doesn't make people uncomfortable? I don't know (but am open to suggestions).
Last thing: pushback is fine, harassment is of course not...
