I haven’t had much to say since the election. Things seemed incredibly bleak then, and have only gotten darker, as the super-rich have climbed over each other to debase themselves at the feet of a monster.

The money is hugely significant, but the act itself — as an expression of sacrifice, of commitment, of thanks — feels like hope, at a time when there’s not a lot of that to go around.
