Rear axle and transmission oil (which doubles as hydraulic fluid) got drained, inspected and filled back in as it was ok.
The filter needed a clean (washable steel mesh) and the magnet therein had collected some stuff, but then this is a 40 year old machine with 2000 hours on the clock. No bigger chunks = all good.
But then things took a turn for the worse...
