I have just booked a rail journey of 160 miles. Admittedly I have a railcard but I paid just £21 for a single.
Something quite dramatic has happened on UK railways, with very little fanfare.
It is so cheap that it wouldn't be a disaster if I decided not to go. Though I can get a partial refund, as long as I don't activate the ticket.
Seat bookings are included.
Train travel deserves to be used much more for leisure.
