The political media is so ready to take down or dismiss Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani before he even takes office. It’s blatantly racist. He was previously a city council member, not a hot dog cart vendor.

Here’s what I hope: That he’s honest, capable, willing to work hard, and has the courage to make good decisions whether they are popular with the donor class or not. No bribery or blatant corruption. That’s a win for me.
