I suspect that the benefit comes more from the perception of 'superintelligence' than from the actual capabilities.
For instance, I don't think that they can make up for poorly organized bureaucracy. From what I've seen in software development, they tend to find unnecessarily complex solutions to each problem, and then pile complexity on top of complexity.
