Some books are just harder to read.
Finally finished "Satanic Verses" by Salman Rushdie. Now all I have to do is dig around on the internet to figure out what the hell he was writing about before our banned book club meeting next month.
I'm about 20% sure it's a work of farce and I managed to pick up on his use of culture to make the reader feel like an outsider to the culture he's looking in on.
Anybody have any insights or references to point me towards?
