Asked elsewhere about the Skynet scenario.
Depends mostly on how quickly AI can perfect modifying its own code. All the AI companies claim they don't do that, but I don't believe them and you shouldn't.
Once models can reprogram themselves at those extraordinary speeds? I'm not *very* worried yet only because the hardware infrastructure in data centers is very amenable to a man with a hammer.
