Tech was just as awful in the triage room getting history. Cutting me off, making assumptions, very rude. After I’d calmly and succinctly gotten the history out, I empathized with how busy they are and she slightly shifted in tone. It’s tough in unequal power relationships because you’re so dependent on them for quality of care.
I realize reception sees a lot and deals with a lot and I know I couldn’t do it. I guess disconnecting (like the cardiac ICU nurses) helps you survive.
