Yes and no, I think the honest truth is that bitcoin price has not crashed out over this because normies aren’t paying attention. The don’t give a fuck, Bitcoin is still dead to them (and will be until we hit $250K ish). On the other side of that, the people who are still in Bitcoin are simply not over panicking this time. This is way less damaging to Bitcoin than an exchange hack and has affected, a very small number of already tiny number of nerdy technical type who would even own a HWW today (though it is devastating for those affected and sakes confidence among those in the self custody space).
That said, the blast radius here is so small, is likely a testament to benefits of the wider FOSS environment in Bitcoin and competition between HWW producers. Further, that there have not been any other catastrophic device-level compromises given the value now stored in Bitcoin is additional testament to the hardness of the ecosystem.
Finally, many seem to confuse friction with security and convenience with compromise - I think we can all be more critical as to when these two heuristics actually are and are not true…
