I analyzed how the fitted power trend parameters change over time when price data is only available until that point in time. When the price spends some time over the trend, it pulls the trend up and vice versa. We'll see where it eventually stabilizes, somewhere between 5.6 and 5.9 seems like a good bet atm.

It does matter what data (until which time point) was used to fit the trend when projecting into to future. The trend does not try to predict #bitcoin price at a certain date but it does give an indication on the ball park of the price. For example with the high-slope the trend sits at approximately $426 000 in the beginning of 2030 whereas with the low-slope it's $363 000.
