LLMs can be useful, but we are literally building gas pipelines directly to data centers to power them. The project is intentionally dehumanizing, and devalues the things I like most about people.
For me, my distaste isn't about how well they work, but about the surrounding effects they have.
Roasted marshmallows are pretty great! Who doesn't want roasted marshmallows? But would you burn down your neighbor's house to roast marshmallows?
