Searching for useful things online has become so ridiculously hard due to, what else, AI.

Case in point: I was looking for recipes of low salt/lower protein kidney friendly meals to cook in the instant pot. I said it had to be either vegetarian meals or chicken/fish as they are the only meats I eat and I can only have those in moderation.

I skipped the first ten or so results as I expected AI, given the random domain names that had nothing to do with cooking.

The first page I did click on gave me a recipe that started like this: Ingredients required for this dish encompass white rice, chorizo, garlic, onion, bell pepper, tomato salsa, and water.

Yeah sure. No weights or anything.

And don’t even get me started on the chorizo. Even if I ate red meat, my kidneys would crash at all the salt content.

And I know what I should and shouldn’t eat. I shudder to think of people growing up with AI and believing shitty recipes are good for them because AI says so.

Anyway, I’m going to look for a cookbook published at least five years ago so the recipes are probably trustworthy. Because apparently I can’t trust search engines to give me the right results.

And if you have recipes/websites to recommend, I’m game. I want to help my kidneys to function well.

Also, remember those web indexing websites that existed when the www just started? Where you could list your website under a long list of topics?

Maybe some more talented people at coding than me could start noslop.com or something, listing sites per topic that are human created.
