First of all LOL, making a hopeful environmentalist post be about Israel is an insanely specific skill.
Also, I think these would still exist and potentially thrive in a free market. The overwhelming lions share of subsidies go to support monoculture mostly to corn and soy for livestock and high fructose corn syrup. I think we would have more regenerative farming in a genuine free market.
