📰 Aptos launches Confidential APT on mainnet for compliant use cases
🗓️ Sep 08 2026 04:07 UTC - Editorial Team
➤ Aptos has launched 'Confidential APT' on its mainnet, enabling users to encrypt token balances and transaction amounts using zero-knowledge proofs and homomorphic encryption, while keeping wallet addresses visible.
➤ This feature is designed for compliance-heavy use cases such as payroll, corporate treasury management, and B2B settlements, offering selective privacy that balances business needs with regulatory demands.
➤ The opt-in feature, activated after community governance approval and integrated with Petra Wallet, aims to provide a middle ground in the privacy debate within the crypto space.
