Russia Performs First Spinal Cord Transplant
The operation was performed at the Sklifosovsky Institute for Emergency Medicine in Moscow. Surgeons worked for 12 hours.
"The patient, who was facing complete paralysis, now has a chance for recovery. He is feeling well," said the Mayor of Moscow, Sergei Sobyanin.
"Just yesterday, this sounded like a plot from a science fiction film – but today it's a medical case with a happy ending. 🏥
