I know it's happened many times to many other folks like me, but here's a note to people in the sciences coming from an interaction I just had:

Please don't expect to just add social scientists/humanities folks like me to your grant projects at the last minute to satisfy a requirement for ethics or whatever. We're not widgets you can just plug in.
