I watched a fascinating David Attenborough show last night on "Virgin Births".
Apparently, theres a decent number of critters who can reproduce asexually.
One thats amazing is aphids. The females vary their offspring by season. In spring, they make 5 clones a day who make 5 clones exponentially. Later they produce winged offspring, then in fall male/female offspring who sexually make overwinter eggs. They have reproduction *Down*
Nature is stranger than fiction.
