This is a composition by John Coltrane himself, recorded in October 1960 but only released in the 1964 album *Coltrane's Sound*. The recording had taken place in the studios of the Atlantic disc company, but when Coltrane left the label for Impulse, he abandoned recorded material that the company released, apparently without Coltrane's approval.
Nevertheless, the recording is very good. This is a quartet with McCoy Tyner on piano, Elvin Jones on drums and Steve Davis on bass. John Coltrane plays soprano saxophone, an instrument that he had been offered by Miles Davis when they were touring together in Europe.
