Indeed. While I studied WW2/III Reich history purely concentrating on military and related topics I could not understand why Himmler, who was raised as a pious Catholic, abandoned his faith in his adult years and started a search for spiritual roots of Aryan people. Now, having better understood the issues and ideas of the national-socialist movement I understand him much better. It is also much easier for us, because now, 100 years later the results are so much more visible.
