Great to see this published. An 18,000 year record of deep water temperatures on the Amundsen Sea continental shelf, which confirms that incursion of warm water onto the shelf has been the main driver of West Antarctic Ice Sheet retreat throughout deglaciation. About 10,000 years ago the amount of warm water on the shelf decreased and subsequent ice sheet retreat was very slow, until the warm water incursion increased again in the mid 20th century.
