there's a huge push here for shops to be card-only; and to replace giving your too-young-for-proper-banking kids pocket money, companies have sprung up offering cards for kids, filled up by parents with an app that lets the parent monitor all their spending. And presumably charges a commission somewhere along the line. Gets the kids used to having their every move surveilled... :-/
